Hi guys,
You have probably heard of the question: "what to wear and how to act? The upcoming weeks we shall describe multiple situations about what to wear and how to act, including proper advice. The first part will cover:
"The job interview"
The most important rule is: "first impressions last". You have only one chance to make a first impression, so make sure it lasts! Wear your best outfit, which obviously is a suit. This seems quite easy, however you need to make sure you wear the right one. In the following we will analyse some crucial parts of the suit.
The jacket
Obviously we shall begin with the jacket, because it is the most important element.
Number of buttons: preferably two or three. If you have two buttons, close the upper one if you are standing, open it if you are sitting down. If you have three buttons: keep the upper two closed or only the middle one and open them all if you sit down.
Length of the sleeve: one centimetre between the beginning of your hand and the end of you suit. Your shirt should be visible under your jacket.
Sleeve buttons: just keep it simple. You should go for four buttons, either kissing or non-kissing.
Fit: this is probably the most important part. The jacket has to accent the body, which means it fits tight to the body, but not too tight. Do not forget the following: the back should be clean, so no folds. The jacket should not be wider than your shoulders. The length is on average till the end of your bottom.
As Harvey Specter would say: “Get it through your head, first impressions last. You start behind the 8 ball, you’ll never get in front.”.
The trousers
For the trousers the most important thing is the fit because the fabric is the same as the jacket. This means that the length of your lag has one fold when it hits the front of your shoe. As for the pleats: no pleats. You're not an old man.The shirt
Button down? What's happening here? No! Definitely not if you are wearing a tie.
Breast pocket: preferably not, but no problem if you do have one.
Colour: the best to wear is just a simple white or light blue shirt, no mishmash! As for the pattern, stripes or diamonds work just fine.
Cufflinks: these are a nice personal touch to complete your look!
The tie: Show your class! If you can't choose, pick a straightforward colour, like red or blue.
The shoes: Make sure they are the same colour as your belt. Go crazy? No! Choose black or brown. And for a bank, remember: "No brown in town".
